Acceptance of Terms

By registering a HifaTag, scanning a HifaTag, or using any part of the HifaTag platform (including hifatag.com, finder.hifatag.com, register.hifatag.com, dashboard.hifatag.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

HifaTag is operated by a sole trader business registered in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

Description of Service

HifaTag provides a QR code-based lost item recovery service. Tag owners register their QR tags with contact details. When a finder scans the QR code, they can send a message to alert the owner that their item has been found.

The service is designed for use during Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages and everyday life. It supports passport tags, luggage tags, key tags, child ID tags, senior citizen tags, personal belonging tags and custom tag types.

User Accounts

To register a HifaTag, you must create an account using a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Ensuring your account information is accurate and up to date
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account

Accounts are created exclusively via the registration page after scanning a HifaTag QR code. We do not offer open public registration.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use HifaTag only for its intended purpose — registering lost item tags and facilitating genuine item recovery. You must not:

• Use the platform to send spam, harassment, threats or abusive messages
• Register a tag for an item you do not own
• Provide false, misleading or deceptive information during registration
• Attempt to access accounts, data or systems you are not authorised to access
• Use automated tools, bots or scripts to interact with the platform
• Circumvent the rate limiting or abuse prevention systems
• Upload photos that are illegal, offensive, or violate the rights of others
• Use the service to facilitate any unlawful activity

Tag Ownership and QR Codes

HifaTag QR codes are sold or distributed to customers. Once purchased, the physical tag belongs to you. However:

• QR codes point to HifaTag's redirect layer (hifatag.com/?id=HT-XXXXX)
• If HifaTag ceases to operate, we will provide reasonable notice and assistance to migrate or export your data
• Tags are reusable — you may re-register a tag to a new item at any time via the dashboard
• Tag IDs are unique and non-transferable between platforms

Finder Messages

When a finder submits a message through the HifaTag finder page:

• The message is delivered to the registered tag owner via email notification
• The message is stored in our database and viewable in the owner's dashboard
• HifaTag may review messages for abuse prevention and safety purposes
• Finder messages are limited to 10 per tag per 24 hours to prevent abuse
• Photos uploaded by finders are automatically deleted after 3 days

Privacy and Data

Your use of HifaTag is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using HifaTag, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, logos and branding on the HifaTag platform are the intellectual property of HifaTag. You may not copy, reproduce, modify or distribute any part of the platform without prior written consent.

You retain ownership of any photos you upload to the platform. By uploading photos, you grant HifaTag a non-exclusive licence to store and display them for the purpose of operating the service.

Disclaimer of Warranties

HifaTag is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The service will be uninterrupted, error-free or fully secure
• Lost items will be recovered as a result of using HifaTag
• Finder messages will always be delivered in a timely manner
• The platform will be available at all times, particularly during peak Hajj and Umrah periods

HifaTag is a tool to facilitate communication — we cannot guarantee recovery outcomes.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HifaTag and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of property that was not recovered despite use of HifaTag
• Unauthorised access to your account
• Data loss or corruption
• Any actions taken by finders or third parties

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of HifaTag shall not exceed the amount you paid for your HifaTag tags in the preceding 12 months.

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Service, engage in abusive behaviour, or use the platform in ways that harm other users or third parties.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at info@hifatag.com. We will remove your personal data within 30 days of receiving your request, subject to any legal retention requirements.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of HifaTag shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes. Continued use of HifaTag after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
